The Inauguration ceremony of the Project of Construction of
the JOC MUHONDO VTC in Gakenke District
took place in Muhondo Sector, Gakenke District on September 26, 2019.
JOC Rwanda, in
collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Rwanda , has established a
vocational training school in Gakenke District, Muhondo Sector, with the aim of
helping the youth of the area to find in
a school nearby where they can study short-term vocational skills. 5 classrooms, one admistrative block, workshop,
and a block of toilets were built.
The Project cost over 70 million Rwandan francs.
Ambassador Miyashita said at the ceremony, “Today, I am glad
to celebrate the completion of the construction together with the people of
Gakenke District. Education is a key for the country’s development and Japan
has been contributing to in the area of education for the development of
Rwanda. Just now, I inspected the constructed school buildings and saw
wonderful classrooms. They have been constructed well and I am grateful for it.
Please maintain and manage well so that the students of the next generations
can also use the facilities and equipments in a good condition.
Mr. Joseph NKURANGA, Executive Secretary of Gakenke District, said “On behalf
of the Mayor of this District, I would like to express gratitude toward Japan’s
support. These facilities will give children promising future. We would like to
use carefully and in an appropriate manner. Mr. Jean Bosco HARERIMANA, National
President of JOC Rwanda also said “I would like to express heartfelt thanks to
the Government of Japan. We promise to maintain these facilities in a good
condition. In addition, Mr. Wellar UWAMUNGU, National Chaplain of JOC, said
“Vocational trainings are indispensable for the success in our lives and we
will try our best using the facilities supported by Japan.
