JOC -JOCF Achievements

IMPACT OF JOC-JOCF ON YOUTH LIVELIHOOD IN RWANDA

Since his arrival in Rwanda in 1958, JOC-JOCF Rwanda undertook various projects and activities that have a significant impact on Rwandan young workers which earned it a social credibility and a national reputation as a structure dedicated to promoting youth as the activities below shows us:

VOCATIONAL TRAINING and ACCOMPANEMENT ACTIVITIES

  • NBDF (Nile Basin Discus Forum) working on environment issues;
  • Vocational Training
  • JOC Kigali VTC:Trains Youth in automobile Repair and Maintenance, Hair Dressing and Tailoring .
  • JOC Muhondo VTC : Trains Youth in Hair dressing, tailoring and Welding& Electricity
  • CEFOTRAR (Centre de Formation des Travailleurs Rwandais) : which located at Kimisagara in Kigali City, this Center trains youth in Hair dressing, tailoring , Welding and leather treatment (Shoes making and belt and other leathering articles).
  • JOC SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES

    Summary of supporting activities

  • Organization of Workers in Kigali City by establishment of Agakinjiro CENTRE with ILO support;
  • Construction of a school in Kigali city known as the " Technical Secondary School Saint Joseph le Travailleur, ESSJT in short in 2000.
  • Construction of our headquarters of 5 levels in Muhima Sector,Nyarugenge District in Kigali City at Peage.
  • Construction of other commercial houses for income generating to young people, as in NYARUGENGE District (Kigali City), RULINDO District (North) Huye District (South) GATSIBO and RWAMAGANA District (Eastern).
  • Initiation, organization and supervision of Motor cycle Association in Kigali City whose currently member of ASSETAMORWA
  • KARANE NGUFU COOPERATIVE: this cooperative has been initiated and organized by JOC since 1978 as an Association and it became cooperative in 2007.

    The mission of JOC-JOCF Rwanda is: ”together young workers, help them analysing their problems and look for how to overcome them together with appropriate and sustainable solutions for an auto-promotion and under the light of Gospel”

    Objectives

    1. Educate youth to cope with life problems: JOC-JOCF seeks to help youth workers to relieve their living problems in environments where they live and how to solve them. 2. Giving young people an education/training appropriate to their backgrounds and activities: It does this by continuing education through formal trainings.
